Anna: Booming with Opportunities

The city of about 20,000 residents off of State Highway 5 and U.S. 75 is 45 miles north of Dallas and 12 miles northeast of McKinney.

A city “exploding with growth and opportunity.” That’s how Nate Pike, Mayor of Anna, describes his beloved town. With a population growth of more than 1,552% since 2000, fast-coming amenities, and over 13,600 housing starts projected, Anna is one of North Texas’ Top 10 fastest-growing cities and in America’s 6th fast-growing county.

As its population continues to boom and economic opportunities arise, Anna has become more than just a railroad town. The city provides its residents a vibrant downtown, great housing and business opportunities, multiple dining and retail options, and a safe family-oriented community

Family-friendly lifestyle at its best

To keep the sense of community strong, the city hosts annual events for neighbors and residents to celebrate together. The Anna Harvest Fest is celebrated in October with a variety of free activities for the entire family, and the Christmas Parade is hosted the 2nd Saturday of every December. Other dedicated events include the Earth Day Festival, Boots and Boom, and Independence Day Fireworks. There’s also the Movies in the Park event hosted once a month around the city with great food trucks options.

Love golf? Well, golf enthusiasts can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Hurricane Creek Golf Club. The 7,027-yard layout is listed as one of the best golf courses in North Texas; it features a pool, dining room, golf club, and more. If you want to enjoy a unique country experience, be sure to check out Barnhill Vineyards, a live music event hall featuring a rustic barn, Texas wine, and live music events on the weekends.

The great outdoors

You can find great parks and recreation facilities to suit each family member’s interests in Anna. There are six parks that offer amenities such as a splash pad, disc golf, pavilions, ball fields, tennis courts, and skateboard park. Additionally, pet owners can take their furry friend to the Paw Park at Natural Springs Park. The city also offers multiple hiking and walking trails perfect to explore the great outdoors.
