Tips for Fall Decor in Your New Home

As fall and its festivities approaches us, so do Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, and what better way to celebrate than doing it from your new home with your family. Camden Homes has 3 home décor ideas for you to have ready by the fall and winter.

1. DIY Candles

All you need is an unscented candle, cinnamon sticks, a rubber band, a ribbon of your choice. Place the rubber band around the candle and begin to insert the cinnamon sticks between the candle and rubber band until the candle is fully wrapped with cinnamon sticks.

Once this is done, simply tie a ribbon around the candle to cover the rubber band. All done! This type of decoration goes perfect in the kitchen, on top of the dining table or island, or even in the family room. The décor itself gives your home a quality touch, but the smell of cinnamon brings tranquility as the scent causes natural relaxation.

2. Wine Bottle Vases

This DIY is super easy and affordable! All you need 3 wine bottles (or more), craft paint of the color of your choice and an accent color, faux plants, and ribbon. Make sure to clean the bottles before painting them so that the paint can be applied smoothly. Afterward, wait for it to dry and simply place the faux plants inside the wine bottle and you’re done! These vases can be table centerpieces or chimney accessories.

3. DIY Fall Wreath

Your home’s door is literally what welcomes you, your family, and visitors to it. A beautiful DIY wreath can add the perfect touch to your home in the fall, without spending too much money. In fact, all of the things you’ll need for this can be found at your local dollar store: an 18 inch grapevine wreath, faux leaves, faux pine cones, small faux pumpkins, a hot glue gun, and hot glue sticks.
Glue the faux leaves on the grapevine wreath until it’s fully covered. Once this is done, begin glueing the pine cones and pumpkins spaced out on the leaves. Once dry, hang the wreath on your front door and you’re finished.
